Whole30 Day 10

Spent all of last night running around cleaning, doing laundry and unpacking the rest of our boxes from the move. The good news is the apartment looks great. The bad news is I went to bed at 2am. Hopefully there aren’t too many grammar and spelling mistakes in this post…

Breakfast: Was starving but didn’t have time to make anything from home. So I quickly went to that “pay by the pound” place again. Got strawberries and a broccoli mix with bacon and nuts. It was disgusting actually. Ate the strawberries but threw the rest away.

Lunch: Thankfully the night before I had enough sense to make lunch. Made my own turkey sausage meatballs. Recipe at the end of this post. So good! I mixed in some scrambled egg and spinach. Lunch made up for the bad breakfast.

Dinner: Unfortunately I ate dinner around 11pm. Was so busy cleaning that I just didn’t really stop. Quickly steamed some broccoli and heated up a few of my sausages. Also ate an avocado, just straight with a spoon. My feet have been cramping up terribly. So much that I have to stop what I’m going for 10 minutes to pull back on my toes to make it go away. Thought maybe I was low on potassium so hopefully the avocado will help.

Homemade Turkey Sausage

1lb ground turkey
2 tsp of Italian Seasoning
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp nutmeg

In a bowl, mix your seasonings. Then add your ground turkey and mix well. Either create little meatballs like I did or you can experiment with making it more sausage pattyish. (Is that a word?).
Heat up oven to 350 degrees (F) and cook your sausage for about 20-25 minutes. It really depends on how thick you make them. I found that 23 minutes was perfect for me. (I checked with my meat thermometer. Was at exactly 165 degrees).

And that’s it! Super easy. And trust me, it doesn’t taste like a meatball. It really does taste like sausage. I was a little worried because the original recipe said to use pork. Thought maybe the turkey would be bland. But it definitely wasn’t. Will definitely be making these again.
