dressedI realize that my blog is supposed to be geared more towards food, fitness, health etc (with the occasional personal posts here and there). But for today’s Motivational Monday I wanted to talk about what I’ve been wearing. If this isn’t your cup of tea, I won’t be upset if you skip reading this post.

When you’re unemployed (or working at home), it’s super easy to fall into the “I don’t have to see other humans, I’ll just wear PJs all day.” But two weekends ago my best girlfriend came over and insisted that I clean out my closet. Which was enough motivation for me to actually wear my clothes. And boy does it make a difference.

Think about it. When you wake up in the morning, you probably pick your clothes based on your mood. Example, you wake up grumpy and tired, you’re probably going to wear the most comfortable outfit you own. If you wake up happy, you might put forth more effort. But what if you always put forth effort, no matter what your mood. Could a bright scarf, red lipstick or your favorite pair of high heeled booties actually make you feel better?

The answer for me, was yes. My only two rules this past week were: 1) wear at least one accessory and 2) do something different with my makeup or hair.
