My One Year Blogiversary and Giveaway

It’s official. Today is my one year blogiversary. (Well technically two years. The first year I was blogging at Cutting Out Carbs). But on December 31, 2012 I moved everything over to Pain-Free Kitchen.

It’s definitely been a fun year. I can’t believe that just last January I was still unsure about this whole “paleo” thing. It was during that January’s Whole30 that I finally figured out I could live practically pain free just by giving up gluten, dairy and soy. (Although recently I’ve begun noticing wine makes a difference as well).

I thought for today’s post it would be good to reflect on this past year. So here are my top 10 most popular posts of 2013:

easycrockpotpulled

coconutbeefcurry

applespicespngecake

beginner salmon recipe

herbchicken

howtobakespaghetti

crockpot balsamic beef

chicken slaw salad

lobster and bacon

I also wanted to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your support. When I started blogging, I really just did it for me. Jake and I were starting to eat gluten-free, and I knew if I didn’t constantly try new recipes I would fall back on my old spaghetti habit. But once I figured out I could reduce my fibromyalgia symptoms, I told Jake I wanted to blog so that I could reach others going through the same problem.

I cannot tell you how much it means to me when I get emails or Facebook messages from people who say that they decided to take their pain management into their own hands because of what they’ve learned on my blog. Or that they’re passing along my blog to a loved one that is suffering from fibromyalgia. Since I started Pain-Free Kitchen last year, I’ve had over 30,000 people come to my site. That number is just astounding.

I thought a great way to thank you would be to host my first giveaway. And what prize would be more appropriate than a copy of “It Starts With Food” by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig.  This was the book that really taught me how foods were affecting my body. And it was their Whole30 program that convinced me that I could give up certain foods to control my fibro pain.

To make things easy, I decided to use Rafflecopter. To enter the giveaway, follow the Rafflecopter link below and follow the directions. It’s super easy. Entries will be given for your blog comment with extra entries for following me on Facebook and Twitter.

Unfortunately, because of the way Amazon works, I can only ship the prize to a winner in the United States. Also if you are under the age of 18, you must have your parents’ permission. The giveaway will be open for two weeks. After that Rafflecopter picks a winner at random and will contact them via email. The winner will have 48 hours to respond  and  will  have the option of either a kindle version or hardcover version of the book. If I don’t hear from the winner in 48 hours, I will have to pick another winner.
