Hello! So last night at dance practice, my partner Jordan mentioned that he was getting excited to do some major shopping for Amazon’s Prime Day today. My response was, “What’s that?”
Apparently I’ve been living under a rock. Today, July 15, Amazon is throwing “a global shopping event,” offering more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members. Which I happen to be. So I immediately ran to make a shopping list. And then I thought why not share the list with you guys, just in case you’re also Prime Members. (Plus, in all honesty, if you guys buy anything using my links, I make a tiny commission. So thanks in advance if you do, but no big deal if you don’t).
So first my recommendations:
I’ve talked about these a few times in the past, but thought I’d mention them one more time in case you haven’t purchased them yet. On the left is my Spiralizer. I got it as a Christmas gift from Jake’s brother, Mike, and I use it all the time. Instead of chopping my sweet potato hash I just spiralize it. It’s awesome.
Next, I highly recommend anything by the brand OXO. The top right is a picture of our cutting board. We’ve had it for years and just bought Jake’s mom one this past Christmas. We also own their vegetable peeler, salad spinner, sink strainer, silicon spatula, tongs, and salt grinder. And we LOVE them. That company is serious about good design.
And I still love my Thermapen. It’s an instant-read thermometer and was crucial to me learning how to cook meat properly. If you see it on sale today, grab it. Over 1000 perfect reviews on Amazon tell you I’m right.
Some other things that I love for working out:
Blender Bottle – I now own two of them, one in pink and one in blue. They are great for mixing protein powder. I’ve also been using them as my regular water bottle at the gym.
BlenderBottle GoStak Twist n’ Lock Storage Jars – Another cool product is the GoStak. They are basically little containers that snap together. I fill one with my BCAA powder and another with my protein powder for after working out.
Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor – I purchased mine from Amazon years ago and it’s still going strong. This model doesn’t have GPS but since I only use it at the gym I didn’t need all the bells and whistles. I love wearing it during HIIT circuits because I can look at the watch to see how many seconds I have left.
Schiek Heavy Duty Wrist Straps – I also bought these from Amazon years ago. I was just starting to lift heavy and would get frustrated because my wrists would give out well before the rest of my body. Using these straps helped me increase weight on my deadlifts and bench press significantly. They’re also great for pull-ups.
Another great fitness recommendation is the The Grid Revolutionary Foam Roller by Trigger Point Performance. If this is on sale today, buy it. I purchased one about a month ago and love it. It’s super important to foam roll, especially if you’re working out every day. And yes it’s totally worth the money. There are many cheaper foam rollers out there but they will squish and be useless after a few months. This foam roller is built to last.
So what’s on my shopping list for today?
A camera. Not sure which one yet. I’ve been looking at reviews online for different cameras with flip up screens:
These have all been recommended by other bloggers but are pretty expensive. So I’ll be keeping my eyes open to see if the price drops. If you guys have a camera recommendation please let me know in the comments.
The Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker. I know, it uses plastic pods which I don’t love. But I’ve used this a couple of times at a friend’s house and it really does make awesome espresso within seconds. So I’ll be watching to see if it goes on sale.
That’s all I can think of right now. Granted I’m also writing this at 10:30pm so hopefully I’ll think of more things as I’m browsing Amazon today. If you guys have any recommendations, let me know!
UPDATE: I just saw Amazon is offering the Anova Immersion cooker as one of their deals. Jake bought one for us in January and we use it all the time. He just pops in some meat in the morning and it’s cooked perfectly by dinner.
